IHG Opening 2nd InterContinental in London

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) are set to open their second InterContinental-branded hotel in London. InterContinental London Westminster, a 254 room six storey property, is scheduled to open in late 2011 and will occupy the former Queen Anne’s Chambers, close to New Scotland Yard. The hotel is estimated to have cost £100 million.

IHG has agreed a 20-year management contract with Splendid Hotel Group. The new hotel is one of 67 in the pipeline for the group’s five star brand around the world, including a new 192 room hotel in Edinburgh, due to open in 2013.
