Traineeships provide benefits for both Trainees and Employers:
Trainees
Trainees are in paid employment where they are provided with structured and tailored training, contextualised to their workplace. They also receive a nationally recognised Certificate of Proficiency from State Training Services (Recognition services), and a training Certificate from the Registered Training Organisation - RTO, when they have completed their traineeship. They may also be entitled to:
- Living away from home allowance
- Public transport concessions (New Employees only)
Employers
Under the program, employers can choose their own employee, and may be eligible for:
- Commonwealth Incentives
- Payroll Tax rebates
- Cost of training met by State Government
There are also additional incentives for women in non traditional occupations, mature aged worker, Disabled New Apprentice Wage support Program, and rural an regional incentives.
