Degree Pathway

Credit transfer, recognition of prior learning and articulation

Hostec acknowledges relevant previous experience and learning when enrolling new students.

Credit transfer is the process of assessing prior academic work in order to determine whether it is equivalent in content and quality to those subjects and courses offered by Hostec. Similarly, recognition of prior learning (RPL) is the process of assessing knowledge and skills developed through other learning, informal studies or work-related learning, to determine whether the skills and knowledge contribute to meeting the learning outcomes and assessment criteria of a subject at Hostec. A successful RPL application will reduce the number of subjects required to complete a qualification.

Both Credit Transfer and RPL will reduce the amount of time required to complete a qualification and MAY reduce the cost of study.

Articulation is where students who complete qualifications at Hostec are given advanced standing at a partner university. Hostec continues to develop strong links with a number of Universities in Australia and Overseas and has a comprehensive approach to articulation to Degree studies which allow students to gain maximum benefit from their Hostec studies towards Higher Education qualifications.

This is in done through a seamless and efficient pathway between Hostec and our partner Universities, making it clear and easy to navigate credit arrangements for students who have completed Hostec qualifications and wish to enroll in University programs.

Dependant on the course completed at Hostec and the university degree chosen, anywhere between a year and two years advanced standing will be given towards a Bachelors Degree. The Degrees currently available through Hostec partnerships are:
